2001-2002 Season

The Society gave two Carol Concerts on Tuesday 18th.and Wednesday 19th. December in Finkin Street Methodist Church, Grantham.

The Choir was conducted by Philip Robinson and we were delighted to have our President Noel Cox conduct the final carol, O Come All Ye Faithful, and wish everyone a Happy Christmas.

The organist was John Heald and the pianist was our Society accompanist Sally Anthony. The Guest Artists this time were the South Lincolnshire Classical Guitar Ensemble and two school choirs from Little Gonerby Infant School and the National School. For the first time we had some professional lighting to add to the ambience in the church and this worked well-it was provided by 'Technical Gear for Shows' (TGS).

The main concert of the season was a very exciting performance of Elijah by Mendelssohn on Saturday 23rd March in Saint Wulfram's Church, Grantham. The orchestra was sinfonia ViVA (leader Benedict Holland), conducted by Philip Robinson. The soloists were:

Carol Smith - Soprano

Kathleen Wilkinson - Mezzo Soprano

Huw Rhys-Evans - Tenor

Robert Ferog - Bass
