In Spring 2011 Grantham Choral Society was awarded a grant for £2,500 from the Lincolnshire County Council Communities Development Fund. This grant was put towards the purchase of a new CPS modular seating and staging system to give us the flexibility to erect staging in different venues.

Grantham Choral Society is very pleased to be able to offer this staging out for hire to other music societies, schools and performing groups.

The staging can accommodate 100 people over 7 tiers, has a depth of 7 metres (front to back) and width of 9 metres. The rear-most tier is 1.4 metres from ground level. The staging comes complete with side and rear handrails, steps and, for a small additional charge, 100 folding chairs.

In addition to the main staging, there are a further eight 1 metre by 1 metre square blocks which can be used for soloists or as a conductor’s podium.

The staging is stored locally by Goldings of Grantham on behalf of Grantham Choral Society. It must be delivered and erected by a crew from Goldings. The staging takes up to 2 hours 30 minutes to erect/disassemble with three able-bodied adult helpers, in addition to the Goldings crew.

Roland C-30 Digital Harpsichord and Organ

With the help of some very generous donations given by our friends, Grantham Choral Society purchased a new Roland C-30 Digital Harpsichord in July 2018 to provide a top-quality accompaniment option for our concerts.

Grantham Choral Society is very pleased to be able to offer out for hire our Roland C-30 for private, commercial or professional events.

This instrument is used by many amateurs and professionals all over the world in place of acoustic instruments and has 61 keys with ‘click action’ F-Scale touch with four harpsichord sound-sets each with four stop variations. It also has two positive small-pipe organ sounds. The pitch can be altered making it ideal for use with period instruments including Baroque pitch (415Hz) and Versailles pitch (392Hz).
